Transition Lens vs Bluelight Blockers

Updated: Feb 3, 2023

While transitions rule the outdoors, bluelight blocking lens are the king of indoors!

Think of bluelight blockers as sunglasses for the screens. Bear in mind that blue blockers are PRIMARILY for screen protective use. They are preventative device that allows the wearer to be exposed to long periods of screen watching and scrolling without getting eye damage.

They also have anti glare properties that help with night driving, bright billboards and even the powerful glare from car radios as well as LED lights.

So, they can be worn 24 hours without any eye damage (only protection)! Transitions are specially coated lens with chemical particles that react to sunlight and go dark, thereby giving a sunglasses effect when outdoors. They do not give protection indoors and do not protect you eyes while using screens.

Some persons with sensitive eyes may have a collection of specs for different uses in different environments. It is important to know what your specific needs are so that you are always, Scrolling Safely!

Our highly recommended alternative to transitions would be the magnetic clip on frames.

These rock star overachieving frames are:

1. prescription friendly

2. UV 400 (for sun protection)

3. blue light blockers AND

4. clip on sunshades
