From my failed business, with love! ❤️

Happy Valentines night! I hope you had an amazing day - felt loved appreciated and celebrated! 💕

If not, check out this cute post about types/stages of love on Valentine's day:

We all make crazy mistakes in love or in trying to be loved. Just like in business, it is much better to learn from someone else's mistakes than to feel the pain of 'if mi did know"- over and over again.

So here are 3 business mistakes I've made in my failed businesses. I went through the pain of these experiences, so that you don't have to!

  • Taking every loss personally. This messed with the confidence I felt in my business when 'not enough sales' translated to ‘I’m not enough’. Sometimes it’s just a bad day or the customer realize they don’t have the money and they’re embarrassed, so they ghost. There are also people who follow just to get a refollow. Then, they leave when it doesn’t work. Don't take every loss personally.

Fix: Get into the habit of improving your marketing a little everyday and detaching your worth from your biz performance. Also, set realistic timelines when you're just starting out - manage your expectations. Nothing about this is overnight.

Say it with me: “It’s okay to not do great at first.”

  • Not having an airtight marketing strategy. This is a rough one. I was selling to everyone and anyone and with no structure and no strategy. I also didn’t have a plan to respond to the less fun parts of business. This led to serious burnout and biz stress. Which would of-course - affect my mood and then my sales.

Fix: Find out who you're selling to. Hint: the group of people who get the most value from your product/service. I'm sorry -I say this A LOT! But once you get a handle on your target audience, everything becomes so much easier- especially selling to them.

  • Trying to get brand new customers every single month. It was like climbing up the same steep hill again and again every sales cycle. Ever watch that movie, Groundhog Day? It led so much unnecessary hard work. My old customers who were happy with my products were more than willing to buy again(and refer others). They just needed a nudge.

Fix: Develop a rock solid customer return and referral plan. Leverage the great experiences of your current customers to pull in others. It's free of cost and efffort and much more effective than paid ads. Bonus points for automating the whole process. 👌🏽✨

These mistakes made business much harder than it had to be and of course I quickly gave up.

Even though I had an amazing product:

Skin By Nature coffee body scrub:

Even the pictures were amazing (This was 2016 and I did not have an iPhone yet) and my posting was like clockwork - very consistent.

Fast forward and I'm now celebrating almost four years with $500k + months doing the same thing but in a more strategic way.

This is the magic I pour into my trainings + courses.

You will master:⬇️

👌🏽 Stepping into the business owner, mover and shaker mindset. That is the foundation that keeps you steady and focused when mental distractions pop up.

👌🏽 Really zoning in on your target audiences' every desire and need. Start getting those "bank details please" instead of "okay thank you" DMs

👌🏽 Blowing away your customers expectations (without spending all your profit on packaging) - right from the very first contact. Not just pulling them back to buy again and again - but also referring your biz to every auntie, uncle cousin and friend they have (Free ads babyyy!!)

So, learn from my mistakes...

✨Save that wasted money to use on buying more inventory. (You'll need it!)

✨Save the wasted time to spend on creating even more yummy content for your customers nibble on - they will be crave more.

It's not just about getting a massive amount of sales although these techniques will have you getting all the sales.

It's about embodying that biz owner confidence energy that radiates from you and turns everything you touch into pure gold 🤌🏽🏆

I'm so happy to connect with entrepreneurs who are always looking to up their game and earn on their own terms.

And I love that we're in this together.

I appreciate you.
