Is It Your Product?

Writer's picture: Stephanie BurnettStephanie Burnett

At some point we all have this sneaky suspicion that our sales dips may be due to the actual product we sell and not just our marketing efforts.

How to know for sure:

  1. Do you have over 500 followers and engages (people liking saving and commenting)

  2. Are you losing followers rapidly or not gaining them even when you run ads?

Since marketing is about getting the people who need our products/solutions to buy from us, we truly want to be sure that people actually NEED our products.

Ask them. Run a poll in your stories and ask your customers if they would like to see you carry other options.

If so, what would they like.

This works well for products that people don’t have to restock very often. Eg. Breast milk pump. A mother might use only one in her child bearing years. So the chance of reselling would be low.

Maybe your 'one' product doesn't require enough usage or repurchasing to get you to $700k in sales. In this case even with a strong customer connection, they simply don't need anymore product.

However, that same young mom will need additional items - maybe stretch mark lotion, neck support for breast feeding etc.

If you did a poll and you’re still not quite sure....

Open up your browser and search for answerthepublic.com. It’s a limited service that allows you to see how many people in your geo area are searching online for your products.

Choose Jamaica as the region, then search for your product.

The results will bring up ; not only how many people are searching online for your products but also the specific questions they ask.

This is also an amazing source for content creation. You’re very welcome! ☺️

What if it’s not your product? It’s in demand but you're still not seeing much sales action?

When I started selling online, I had about 10 brand ambassadors selling islandwide. I had persons selling 20 items per week and some selling zero.

The same item.

Before you give up on your product, try an actual marketing strategy. Not copying influencers or big brands. Not posting random facts consistently, but an actual proven science based strategy.

I spent months chasing sales and fighting to keep up with competitors until I tapped into strategic social media selling.

After frustrating months of few sales and losing followers and being ghosted, I applied these strategies to my IG plan for my product page.

I now wake up to consistent daily sales whether or not I’m active on Instagram.

Fast forward to today. I’ve jam packed all these strategies and techniques into one master course for other business owners to replace the frustration with flowing sales.

VIP goes into the skills of self motivating out of a low sales mood (yes it exists) to Mastering Promotions like a pro. It teaches the combination of techniques and approaches needed under your belt to keep hitting $$$,$$$ months!

Consistently.

So before you throw away your product idea, invest in understanding how to market + sell on Instagram. It’s a skill like any other and can be taught.

Join the dozens of Instagram biz owners who have completed the course and gone on to making amazing changes in their businesses:

Wishing you all the success (and sales) in 2024!🥂
