Starting!
It’s feels like the sexiest baddest move in the whole world. Like, I did that!
You know what’s the least exciting part of business?
The boring daily strategies it actually takes to keep making money.
That’s why a huge percentage (Google it) of businesses don’t last.
Because starting is much sexier than sticking it out. Here are some solid truths to consider when you feel tempted to quit::
It’s going to be rough (prepare + brace yourself)
Learn to manage your emotions (master yourself)
Be humble enough to take feedback (from customers + mentors)
Learn (and try) new things. Marketing is dynamic, especially on social media
Build a strategy for your time, your money (profit and expenses) and your self.
Hack your weaknesses. This requires you to be honest about your shortcomings.
Your profit is the total of your good habits minus your bad habits. Work on them!
The money is in the boring details; not in going viral, but in the daily grind of improving your processes, your self and ultimately- your whole life
A $500k + sales months will come from a combination of strategies not just one thing.
Fall in love with the process and it will be easier to stick to it long term
Work on your mental relationship with money. If money ‘moves’ you too much, it’s controlling you.
Always be learning (nothing is stagnant; the market is always moving). Keep up!
The sales are in the boring details:
The reaching out, the following up, the newsletters, the daily IG stories, responding to comments, updating your highlights and your website. Trying new things in different ways and old things at new times. And getting better at them each day.
It never stops.
But you will get better.
After a while, you’ll no longer be trying; you’ll be DOING.
You will develop a habit of showing up no matter how you feel or how many people ghosted you last week.
You keep moving forward. You become stronger than your distractions and your disappointments.
You grow into being a business person not just ‘trying a thing’ and that’s when the magic takes over.
unexpected sales happen even when you don’t post
amazing opportunities from silent investors who notice your work ethic
sudden uptick of sales from numerous referrals and repeat customers
Then
You realize:
I’m doing it!
I’m doing the thing and it all worked out and it was worth the entire journey!!
Put in the work. Keep improving!
